At École Mosaic in Geneva, innovation means continually exploring, evaluating and refining how technology supports teaching and learning. As an ISP Lab School, we carefully select digital tools, regularly review their effectiveness and draw on feedback from teachers and students to ensure they bring genuine educational value. As an ISP Lab School, Mosaic introduces technology through a careful process of piloting, testing and research, so only well‑evaluated tools reach classrooms. Digital platforms are chosen because they genuinely enhance language learning, deepen understanding and support teachers in tracking pupil progress. We ensure that technology use is purposeful and impactful.
Through platforms such as Seesaw and Class Padlets, teachers keep parents informed about learning objectives, progression and weekly classroom activities, fostering a shared understanding of what children are learning.
Digital tools support collaboration, enabling students to exchange ideas, solve problems and create projects together. From shared presentations to virtual exchanges with other schools and educational partners, technology opens opportunities for teamwork and meaningful connections beyond the classroom.

Language learning
In the early years, digital tools are introduced gradually, complementing play-based learning, storytelling, oral language development and hands-on exploration.
As students progress through primary school, carefully selected digital platforms provide opportunities to consolidate learning, practise key skills and develop understanding at an individual pace. In our bilingual environment, these tools also support vocabulary development across languages and allow teachers to tailor activities, monitor understanding and provide timely feedback.
Throughout, technology is used purposefully as one of many resources supporting engaging, collaborative and active classroom learning.
A thoughtful, age-appropriate approach to iPad use
At École Mosaic, technology is introduced gradually and purposefully, reflecting children's developmental needs and growing independence.
Artificial Intelligence
AI supports teachers, not students. Through tools like the ISP AI Toolbox, it helps personalise lessons and streamline planning, so technology enhances learning while the classroom experience remains human and relationship‑driven.
Initially, digital tools complement play-based experiences, focusing on oral language, listening, storytelling and hands‑on exploration alongside the use of physical manipulatives such as building blocks.
Together, these tools allow students to progress at an appropriate pace without losing the richness of human interaction and classroom dialogue.
In Early Years and 1P - 2P, shared iPad sets support short, age‑appropriate activities such as language games, creative apps or documentation of learning, always under close teacher guidance. Devices remain at school and are only taken home for specific, teacher‑assigned projects agreed with parents.
From 3P, each student has access to a one‑to‑one iPad, used in carefully planned moments to deepen understanding, practise key skills and enrich projects across subjects. Students, parents and teachers co‑sign the Mosaic iPad Promise and iPad User Agreement, which clearly define respectful, safe and purposeful use. This shared framework ensures iPads are seen and used as learning tools that complement active, face‑to‑face classroom experiences rather than replacing them.
As one of eleven ISP Lab Schools, we integrate AI in a careful, research‑informed way that keeps teaching and learning firmly human‑centred. AI is used by teachers, not students, primarily through tools such as the ISP AI Toolbox. These tools help teachers design richer lessons, adapt resources to different language levels and learning profiles, and identify where students might need extra support or further challenge.
By saving time on routine tasks and offering new insights, AI allows teachers to focus more on relationships, dialogue and high‑quality classroom experiences, ensuring that technology amplifies great teaching rather than replacing it.
Formative
Yes, I've noticed that using Formative can positively impact student academic progress. It helps identify learning gaps in real time, allowing for quicker feedback and support, which improves understanding and performance.

I like Flash Academy, there are lots of different things to do: grammar, writing etc, and activities are not always the same – I would give Flash Academy 9/10.
