Our young chefs whisk, chop and measure ingredients to create tasty sweet and savoury recipes from scratch, growing in independence and developing numeracy and fine motor skills while discovering new flavours, safe kitchen habits and the pride of taking homemade dishes back home.

Dodgeball

Athletes run, dodge and throw in energetic matches designed to stay safe and inclusive, all the while developing coordination, reaction speed and cooperation while respecting rules and caring for others.

Children sharpen their accuracy, positioning and tactical thinking to outsmart opposing teams, which strengthens team spirit and emotional control and nurtures fair-play, keeping competition lively yet respectful.

Dance

Children move, groove and perform in lively sessions that blend rhythm, expression and styles such as hip hop, boosting coordination, musicality and self‑confidence while learning choreography, exploring freestyle and sharing the joy of dance with friends.

Eco-School Committee

Children at École Mosaic take the lead on sustainability through the Eco-School Committee. Class representatives from 3P to 7P, together with the four 8P House Captains, form a student team that listens, decides and acts on environmental priorities. Children collect ideas from their classmates, discuss them in regular meetings and turn them into concrete projects, from improving recycling to raising awareness in assemblies.

By guiding these initiatives and speaking on behalf of their peers, children grow as confident communicators, thoughtful decision‑makers and responsible changemakers for their school and their planet.

Gymnastics

1P – 4P
Our young athletes roll, jump and balance across imaginative circuits that turn basic gym skills into mini adventures. The children develop courage, coordination and confidence while learning to help classmates and celebrate progress.

2P – 8P

Budding artists transform bold ideas into colourful street‑inspired artworks using lettering, stencils and spray techniques, building their artistic confidence, fine motor skills and creative expression while exploring the history of graffiti and experimenting with striking visual styles.

Guitar

Participants strum chords and pick melodies in tailored lessons that match each learner’s pace and style, building musicality, finger strength and listening skills while exploring songs, basic music theory and the joy of performing favourite tunes on the instrument.

Geneva Escalade Race

The first weekend of December, École Mosaic joins the Geneva Escalade Race alongside Paint a Smile, with children’s races on Sunday offering our youngest learners a joyful way to take part in this local tradition with family and friends.

We also mark the 12 December Escalade Day at school: students come in costume, learn about Geneva’s history and share the traditional breaking of the chocolate cauldron in class, combining culture, fun and community spirit.

Graduation Party

At the end of 8P, when pupils complete their Primary journey, we invite families to a special Graduation Party. This warm, joyful celebration brings students, parents and teachers together to recognise achievements, share memories and support our soon‑to‑be Middle School learners as they take their next step.

Guest Lectures

Guest lectures spark reflection and dialogue on key educational issues. This year, we welcomed specialist Antoine Métayer for two sessions on bullying: one for staff and one for parents, exploring its challenges, prevention strategies and the power of a collective response. These talks reinforce our commitment to a caring, respectful and safe environment for every student.

Handball

The children pass, move and score in dynamic small‑sided games that encourage everyone to get involved. The focus is on fair-play, sharing, team spirit and the enjoyment of playing together.

5P – 8P

Hiking

At our private school in Switzerland, students explore forests, trails and mountain paths on adventures that spark curiosity about nature and build stamina, observation skills and teamwork. Learning to read the landscape, the children following routes and discover local wildlife in the fresh air.

Homework & Tutoring

Learners tackle school tasks in French and English with calm support in a focused setting, build effective study habits and gain confidence through personalised guidance and encouragement, with teachers on hand to clarify tricky concepts.

House Captains

House Captains and Vice-Captains step into key student leadership roles at the start of each school year. Children elected to these positions act as spokespeople for their House, sharing ideas from classmates and representing the student body. Across six meetings a year, they discuss priorities, help plan events and work with staff to keep House activities running smoothly.

By organising and leading assemblies, House Captains build confidence, public‑speaking skills and a strong sense of teamwork and responsibility within the school community.

Halloween

Each year, international private school in Switzerland celebrates Halloween in a fun, friendly atmosphere. All students come to school in costume to enjoy the festivities: younger children parade through the building to collect sweets from older classes, while older students join an afternoon party. It’s a joyful day of imagination, sharing and high spirits for the whole community.

Judo

Our junior judokas practise throws, holds and safe falls in energetic sessions that channel strength and respect, developing coordination, self‑control and perseverance while learning core judo techniques, building resilience and embracing the values of discipline and fair play.

Kids Pilates

Pilates transforms movement into a playful adventure where stretching, balance and core strength become a game. Students develop posture, body awareness and concentration as they follow imaginative sequences that support healthy growth and flexible, strong muscles.

LEGO

1P – 3P

Our young builders construct imaginative models and themed worlds that bring stories, machines and cities to life in an activity designed to strengthen spatial reasoning, creativity and problem‑solving whicih also exposes them to exploring gears, forces, geography and even space through hands‑on building challenges.

Manga

Participants bring stories to life by creating original characters in the distinctive manga style, practising drawing techniques, visual storytelling and using their imagination while growing patience, focus and artistic flair.

Mosaic Academy

Learners expand their language skills in dynamic sessions that mix conversation, games and cultural discovery, building confidence, pronunciation and listening while exploring Spanish, English, German or Mandarin through real‑life scenarios and lively group activities.

Multisport

Yellow Class – 2P

Young learners explore a mix of fun games and sports that build coordination, balance and teamwork and try out new movements, gain confidence in physical skills and discover the joy of staying active with friends. 3P – 8P Students challenge their physical abilities across different sports while refining technique and tactics, building stamina, fair-play and team spirit in a supportive, high‑energy environment.

Mosaic Parents' Association

The Mosaic Parents’ Association plays a key role in school life, supporting events throughout the year and organising popular bake sales. Their commitment helps bring our big annual June celebration to life, a Saturday event that unites the whole community around games, stalls and activities, marking the end of the school year in a warm, festive atmosphere.

1P – 4P
Our young learners playfully explore body‑to‑body challenges in a safe setting, building coordination and spatial awareness while learning to work with their team mates, control their movements and enjoy fair, friendly duels.

5P – 8P
Pupils experiment with balance, imbalance and simple tactics to gain an advantage, strengthening self‑control, mutual trust and strategic thinking. Respect and safety are at the heart of every game.

Open Doors

Several times a year, 1P and 2P classrooms open their doors to families. Parents are invited into the learning space to discover students’ work, share special moments with their children and interact with teachers. These open door sessions strengthen the partnership between home and school while celebrating each child’s progress and achievements.

Percussion

Children discover rhythms from around the world using djembes and a range of percussion instruments which develop coordination, listening skills and musical confidence while playing patterns together, improvising beats and feeling the energy of group music‑making.

Parent Conferences

On the Friday before the start of the school year, new families are invited to an information meeting, and all families can visit classrooms and meet teachers. The afternoon ends with a friendly apéritif.

A few days after term begins, back‑to‑school meetings are held in the classrooms. On this occasion, teachers present the key elements of the year ahead, explaining learning objectives, routines and expectations.

Twice a year, parents meet individually with teachers to discuss their child’s progress. The first meeting, held before the Christmas holidays, follows a traditional parent‑teacher conference format focused on academic and personal development. The second meeting, in March, is organised differently depending on the age of the students: for children from Pink Class to 2P, it remains a standard parent‑teacher conference, while students from 3P to 8P present their own self‑assessment to both parents and teachers.

Project Presentations

Twice a year, parents are invited to discover their child’s learning through special class project presentations: one multicultural, the other linked to class or science work. These multidisciplinary projects, sometimes co‑created with families, showcase students’ creativity and progress, and reflect the collaborative, international spirit at the heart of École Mosaic.

Our young innovators tinker, test and create in experiments that blend science, technology, engineering, art and maths, strengthening curiosity, teamwork and design thinking while building models, running investigations and solving real‑world challenges in imaginative ways.

School Productions

Each year, École Mosaic’s school productions bring the community together to celebrate students’ creativity and confidence on stage. Just before the Christmas holidays, all pupils present a joyful winter concert for their families, marking the end of the first term with music and shared emotion.

In March, a major theatre production showcases the work of 4P - 8P across four performances, while younger students from Pink Class to 3P present their own shows combining theatre and music. These events offer every child the chance to perform, develop their artistic expression and experience the pleasure of creating something special together.

Sports Day

Sports Day, held at the end of September at the Bout‑du‑Monde stadium, is a highlight of the École Mosaic calendar. Mixed‑age teams from 1P to 8P join in a variety of sports activities, while younger children enjoy age‑appropriate games nearby. The whole day is devoted to teamwork, cooperation and the simple joy of playing and succeeding together.

Thanksgiving

As one of the best international schools in Switzerland, Mosaic School celebrates Thanksgiving each year in a spirit of sharing and gratitude. This year, students wrote what they were thankful for on paper leaves to create a school‑wide “gratitude tree”, and personally delivered messages of thanks to someone of their choice. The celebration offered a meaningful moment to reflect on thankfulness, share positive feelings and strengthen connections across the community.

Theatre

5P – 8P

Students build confidence, clear speech and expressive body language while strengthening teamwork, empathy and creativity as they step onto the stage to explore characters, stories and emotions through play.

Taekwondo

A dynamic martial art that blends discipline, agility and respect and improves coordination, balance and strength while teaching self‑control, focus and confidence through fun, structured practice and progressive challenges.

Traditional Games

1P – 4P
At Mosaic School, children share the joy of classic playground games with simple rules everyone can follow and which encourage inclusion, teamwork and communication while discovering how much fun it is to play together.

5P – 8P
Students deepen their understanding of roles and collective strategies in well‑loved group games and learn to handle winning and losing with respect, and develop fairness and a strong sense of community spirit.

Violin

In small groups (of 5 maximum) children discover the violin. This is an introductory course in which children become familiar with the four strings, begin to handle the bow and play small pieces together.

Visual Arts

1P – 3P

Young artists explore drawing, collage and mixed media to bring characters, places and stories to life, developing observation, imagination and fine motor skills while discovering famous artists, experimenting with techniques and creating original, gallery‑worthy pieces.

Voyage de Cohésion

At the beginning of September, students from 4P to 8P take part in a three‑day team-building trip to La Chapelle‑d’Abondance. Through workshops in philosophy, science, drama and sports, they get to know one another in a different setting, strengthen group spirit and deepen their sense of belonging to their house and to the wider École Mosaic community.

Wrestling

1P – 4P
Children discover controlled physical contact through fun, carefully supervised bouts. They develop confidence, control and respect by following safety rules and treating opponents with consideration.

5P – 8P
Pupils create and apply simple strategies to outwit opponents on the mat, building mutual respect, trust and emotional management. The children learn to win with humility and lose with grace.
