Middle School Information Session
At Mosaic School, safeguarding is a shared responsibility embedded in daily life. We are fully committed to creating a secure, caring, and inclusive environment in which children feel safe, respected, and ready to learn.
With close collaboration between teaching teams, our Pedagogical Directors and Well-Being Coordinator, we ensure that each child is supported academically, emotionally and socially. We pay particular attention to listening to children, observing their needs and responding appropriately and promptly to any concerns.

Spotlight on Aurélie Rossat, who has recently taken on the role of Coordinator for Health, Wellbeing and Learning Support at our school.
Responsible for managing and monitoring Individualised Reception Plans (PAI) and Educational Support Plans (PAE) for students with specific needs, Aurélie plays a cross-functional role within the school, facilitating coordination between families, teachers and external specialists. Having already supported several children with autism spectrum disorders or attention deficit disorders with/without hyperactivity (ADHD), Aurélie is particularly attentive to the needs of students with learning difficulties. She is deeply committed to providing each child with an inclusive school environment where they can thrive and develop to their full potential.
In addition to her responsibilities within our enhanced support programme, Aurélie also ensures the health and wellbeing of all students. This includes implementing the Kelso programme for conflict resolution and social skills development, promoting a positive and caring school environment, and raising awareness of first aid practices.
Holding a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University Savoie Mont Blanc, along with training in Singapore, Jean qui Rit, and Montessori teaching methods, Aurélie brings extensive teaching experience to École Mosaic. She draws on active pedagogical approaches to support students in both their learning and personal development.
Spotlight on Miss Helen, who joined Mosaic eleven years ago to teach in Cycle 3, primarily in class 5P.
A Swiss/UK national, Miss Helen was drawn to Mosaic by the unique teaching model in which each class is co-taught by two teachers—one English-speaking and one French-speaking—ensuring full immersion in both languages at all times. A strong advocate of this pedagogical approach for language development, she also values the opportunities it creates for teachers to learn from and inspire one another.
Last year, Miss Helen expanded her role by joining the school’s leadership team as Head of Learning. In this pedagogical leadership position, she supports teaching staff in their work and development.
Since the end of term in June, Miss Helen has been preparing for the new academic year, including refining the school’s application to become a Cambridge Primary school, planning the academic calendar, coordinating the delivery of books and teaching materials, organising staff training for 2025–2026, and analysing data from GL standardised assessments. This helps teachers identify learning gaps, monitor student progress, and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
Dedicated to providing a truly holistic education for every student, Miss Helen is a strong ambassador of the school’s bilingual approach and an inspiring model of lifelong learning for both students and staff.

Child protection policies
We operate under a strong safeguarding and child protection policy. We work closely with International Schools Partnership and with relevant local institutions to ensure robust and consistent practices.
Monitored access
Access to the school is carefully supervised. Our reception manager monitors all entries and exits and every visitor registers on arrival. Visitors are clearly identified and accompanied while on site.
CCTV cameras
Discreet CCTV cameras cover key shared areas such as corridors, stairwells and communal spaces. This system supports a safe environment and is operated in line with strict privacy and data protection regulations.
Safeguarding leadership
Safeguarding is led by a dedicated team, including a Designated Safeguarding Lead, two Pedagogical Directors and a Well-being Coordinator.
Staff training
All staff receive regular safeguarding training. They learn how to recognise early signs of concern, respond clearly and follow agreed procedures. Safeguarding is part of everyday school life and informs the way our staff work with children.
Background checks
Before joining the École Mosaic team, all of our staff undergo thorough background checks, ensuring their suitability to work with young children.
Student prevention
Students take part in regular, age-appropriate sessions that help them learn to recognise risks, look after their wellbeing and ask for help, so that they feel confident, informed and supported.
Online safety
Through our curriculum and wellbeing programme, students learn how to behave respectfully, protect their personal information and be mindful of online risks.
Anti-bullying
A two-part conference for teachers and parents focuses on defining bullying, recognising early signs and working together on practical strategies that support a respectful, inclusive school culture.
Ongoing training
Our teachers engage in professional training days each year. Recent sessions included multilingual teaching, first aid, cyber security and safeguarding, ensuring classroom practice reflects current research and standards.
Mosaic iPad Promise
From 3P to 8P, students, parents and teachers co-sign a shared agreement that sets clear expectations for the safe, respectful and purposeful use of iPads so that these remain powerful learning tools enhancing face-to-face teaching.
Caring and vigilant team
Our staff are trained to be attentive, caring and proactive. Beyond physical security, they play a key role in creating a safe and supportive environment, where children are listened to, supported, and protected in their daily school life.
