Middle School Information Session
Children enjoy a happy start to school life, immersed in a bilingual French and English environment. Learning is structured to develop gradually from Pink and Yellow classes (ages 3 – 4) with children taking the first steps towards 1P and 2P (ages 4 – 6) where they enter the main school environment, consolidate their learning and develop key socio-emotional skills.
Bespoke bilingual curriculum
Learning follows a bespoke curriculum that blends the Swiss PER with the Cambridge International Curriculum, with one week in French and the next in English.
Personal attenton
Pupils benefit from personalised attention in a caring environment and small classes (average size 17). There is one French and one English mother-tongue teacher for every class.
Tech-enhanced learning
Children accelerate their learning using shared iPads in small groups and for limited periods of time. Teachers guide playful activities that enhance curiosity and early skills without replacing human connection.
Life skills
Learners start to develop important life skills through the ISP Life Competencies framework – a framework supported by Camtree, part of Hughes Hall at the University of Cambridge.
Performing arts
Early experiences in theatre and music nurture children’s creativity and imagination. Twice a year, they proudly share their talents with their families through live performances.

At our Early Years School in Geneva, children build strong foundations through our bespoke curriculum, which blends the Swiss PER with the Cambridge International Curriculum. From August 2026, the Cambridge programme will be used for Maths and Phonics and we aim to align our language programme with the Cambridge International Curriculum by 2027. Our youngest learners move forward one week in English and one week in French, giving them equal exposure to both languages.
Discovering the world through words
At École Mosaic, children begin a bilingual journey in French and English that balances play with early foundations in literacy. Through songs, stories and everyday interactions in the classroom, they use language to express their needs, feelings and ideas. They also become aware of other languages around them and start to link spoken words to written words by recognising their name and following simple, familiar texts.
At the same time, they play with sounds (syllables, rhyme and early phonics), explore picture books in both languages to deepen understanding and vocabulary, and refine fine motor skills through varied mark‑making so they can gradually practise letter shapes and begin forming simple words with increasing control and confidence.
Developing logical reasoning
Pupils build the foundations of mathematical thinking through hands‑on exploration and play. They handle and sort real objects, count small quantities and compare “more” and “less” in everyday situations, gradually moving from concrete materials to simple pictures and early symbols.
As they manipulate shapes and familiar items, they develop spatial awareness and first ideas of representation, while age‑appropriate problem‑solving activities such as sorting, matching and categorising help them notice patterns, make choices and explain their thinking. This journey nurtures early number sense, measurement and geometry, laying a confident groundwork for future mathematical learning.
Ensuring well-being
In Early Years, children discover what their bodies can do as they move, run, jump and dance in small groups guided by a specialist teacher. Through simple movements, ball games, non‑contact opposition games and rhythmic dances, they are encouraged to dare, explore and try new actions while developing motor skills, balance, coordination and spatial awareness.
Through play, they also learn to listen to instructions, take turns, cooperate with others and begin to understand and respect simple rules, building positive habits and enjoyment of physical activity from the start.
Unleashing creativity
As one of the best Kindergartens in Geneva, children experience music in small groups with a specialist teacher, listening closely and beginning to understand the building blocks of music such as pitch, tempo and melody. Through guided movement, they explore turning and rotation, building spatial awareness and control of their bodies. Basic instruments like drums and egg shakers help the children develop their fine motor skills and coordination further.
Through singing, experimenting with different sounds, simple rhythms and focused musical listening, they develop attentive listening, confidence and a shared joy in making music together, laying strong foundations for future musical learning.
Owning the spotlight
Children use movement and drama to explore space, build gross motor skills and grow more confident in speaking, developing spatial awareness, simple oral expression and a secure presence in front of others. In small groups, with specialist teachers, they experiment with performance, posture and clear voice placement so they can be heard and understood on stage.
Twice a year, our youngest learners proudly share their progress in joyful music, theatre and art shows for families, often linked to project themes or special celebrations - a meaningful opportunity to express themselves in public.
Exploring imagination
At Mosaic School, students develop creativity through art, crafts and movement. They cut, glue and draw to strengthen fine motor skills, and enjoy puzzles, playing with beads and simple cooking in class.
Every day at École Mosaic is full of discovery and meaningful learning. Families can choose the rhythm that suits them best: on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, children in Pink Class can attend for a half day from 8am to 12 noon, or enjoy a full day from 8am to 4pm.
Whatever the timetable, our Early Years classes follow a gentle structure that balances focused activities with plenty of time to move, play and explore.

Multilingualism
Children become bilingual in French and English through lessons and activities in both languages from an early age.
Parents regularly receive photos and updates via the SeeSaw app, that open a window into daily classroom life, alongside a school newsletter every fortnight. Across the year, three project presentations invite parents into school to see learning in action. A report card every semester, a welcome meeting at the start of the year and two formal parent–teacher conferences provide clear, structured feedback on progress.
At any time, parents can contact teachers or the Pedagogy team directly to arrange a meeting or raise questions over email: this open-door, collaborative approach is a pillar of our culture and helps every child feel supported at home and at school.
As one of the best Kindergartens in Geneva, students build learning and life skills by discovering how to live and play in a group, sharing, taking turns and respecting simple rules while encountering different languages and cultures each day. Through stories, games and songs in two languages, they develop their verbal language skills. They learn to recognise and name emotions in themselves and others, developing empathy, confidence and clearer self‑expression.
Fine motor activities like threading and painting, together with larger movements such as running, dressing and playing sports, strengthen coordination, balance and independence, while everyday classroom life helps them see mistakes as part of learning and grow as resilient, autonomous and engaged learners.
Pupils grow as natural multilinguals, learning one week in English and the next in French with two mother‑tongue teachers always present. They continue their bilingual journey with equal exposure to both languages, expanding their vocabulary, speaking in longer and more precise sentences and becoming better at expressing needs, ideas and feelings.
Listening skills strengthen as they follow simple instructions, understand stories and respond to questions, while they begin to notice patterns in language – sounds, rhythms and word order – which prepares them for early reading and writing. In rich classroom environments where they talk, listen, question and retell experiences, children build strong communication skills and the confidence they need for future multilingual learning.
