We have the great honour to have been asked by UNICEF to have our 5P to 8P choir sing on the occasion of the Human Chain event organised in Geneva. This event aims at raising awareness on UNICEF’s fight against starvation, in particular the starvation of children in countries at war. Nearly 1.4 million children suffer from severe malnutrition and are risk of dying in Nigeria, Somalia, South Soudan and Yemen!
The event took place on Saturday December 9th, on the Ile Rousseau, on the Bergues bridge.
The students were expected at 12 pm. Mr Nicolas Rabaeus (their music and choral teacher), Mr Gabriel Amsellem (father of two students, working with the school Espace Entreprise who enabled Mosaic to take part in this event, and myself were there to welcome the children.
The ceremony started at 12.30 pm with various official speeches, followed by the choir singing Imagine by John Lennon. This first part lasted about 20 minutes, and was followed by the Human Chain.
